“Materials Under Extreme Conditions”

The Institute for Shock Physics (ISP) at Washington State University is pleased to announce a NEW 9-week, multidisciplinary undergraduate research program “Materials under Extreme Conditions” in the summer of 2013. The goal of the ISP SURE program is to provide undergraduate students in the Physical Sciences and Engineering the opportunity to undertake and perform hands-on experimental investigations of condensed matter phenomena at extreme conditions.  There are a variety of exciting research projects from which to choose. 
 
Applications are being accepted now and will close on February 20 or once the positions are filled.  Selected applicants will receive a $5,000 stipend for the 9-week session (May 30 - August 2, 2013), free housing on campus and travel assistance for travel to and from Pullman, WA (up to $500).
